What is new in SharePoint 2019?
After 15 years journey of SharePoint a new milestone pillar is now in our way i.e. 2019. As usual it is under bundle of office 365. Let’s look into what are new in this version?
The Modern Experience: in 2016 the big disadvantage was lots of modern SharePoint feature. But in 2019 we have received large chunk of modern experience.
Access Services 2013: Now sending mail is possible from Access Services 2013.
Webpart : The new HERO web part capable to display five items together.
Fast Site Creation: This is new feature which is as of now available with three site templates – Team site, Communication site and OneDrive personal site. Hope, this
feature will be available for other site template soon.
File Size: In document library now we can store 15 GB of file.
Modern web parts: Public preview user can add modern site page and web part
Site Creation: SharePoint home page has option to create sites in different web applications.
Search: Now search engine is smart enough to show result during typing the word.
PDF views: Now PDF view is rendering from server side not from client side
Sync files: To sync files users can use the new OneDrive sync client (NGSC – Next Generation Sync Client) instead of Groove.exe.
Hash and percentile characters in file and folder names: Now supports # and % characters in file and folder names which makes it easier to sync to content from personal storage devices to SharePoint.
Future of Old Features:
Newsfeed: It will be read only.
The BI Stack: Still is available, but it’s going to be deprecated.
